Hi world! Welcome to my blog! This blog will be a work in progress, as I've never done this kind of thing before!
I guess the neighborly thing to do would be to tell you a little bit about myself. I am 31 years old and have collected comic books all my life! Currently, I buy and sell all sorts of comics and trade paperbacks on eBay and amazon.com under user ID "Mudcreek47". You can check out my amazon.com store at the below link!

To say that I am a lifelong comic book fan would be an understatement! I learned how to read from old Batman, Spider-Man, and Hulk coloring books, record comic books, comics, and Little Golden Books. Some of the first books I ever remember my m0m reading to me as a child were these type books.
I couldn't tell you the first comic book I ever remember owning, but it was probably an Incredible Hulk or Spider-Man book from the late 1970s or early 1980s. My mom & grandmother used to buy them for me during visits to the grocery store, gas station, drug store, etc. (Remember when comic books used to be cheap and available everywhere??). The Hulk was my favorite, followed closely by Spider-Man. The Hulk was quite popular in these days, what with being on a top rated CBS TV show on Friday nights.
I remember getting some of the old Whitman comic 3-packs, and some of the Marvel 3-packs.
In the early 1980s during a family visit to the Jockey Lot flea market in Anderson, SC one Saturday, I remember stopping in a record shop which had one room solely dedicated to comic books. From that moment on I was hooked for life! Never had I seen long boxes of comics before, and didn't have the first idea about how to bag, board, and sort them!
Until that time, I just read comics and threw them away! I was probably in first grade. The store owner told me how to keep them stored either flat, or bagged & borded in long boxes. I was so short, my mom had to pick me up to view the comics in the long boxes on the table (about waist high for an adult). Finally the owner brought over a stool, and I was all set! I remember carefully flipping through the issues, checking out the different covers and books.
The owner explained that if I didn't have any comic book bags, then a ziploc storage bag would suffice. During that visit to my first comic book store, I came away with several Hulk & Spider-Man books. I remember getting Hulk Annual #7 (classic Roger Stern & John Byrne issue guest starring the Angel & Iceman), Incredible Hulk 142 (vs. Doctor Doom!), IH# 186-187 (Hulk vs. the Gremlin), and the Amazing Spider-Man All Detergent giveaway reprint of ASM Annual #2, and a couple other assorted issues.
The first books I remember getting off the racks were from summer 1986. I would have been in 2nd grade at this point. I remember Amazing Spider-Man #278, GI Joe #48 (purchased for 75c from the Sky City in Cornelia), and Incredible Hulk #320 ("The Doctor is OUT!", purchased from a Waldenbooks for 75c from Lakeshore Mall in Tucker, GA).
I also remember around this time getting many of the Marvel comic 3-packs. I still have copies of Transformers #7-15 obtained via 3-packs. Also some early GI Joe issues, #s 36-38 came out of Marvel 3-packs from Toys R Us for $1.99 ea.
My current reading list includes Essential X-Men volume 8, Essential Hulk volume 1, Marvel's Red Hulk series, X-Men Fatal Attractions, and the latest Twisted Toyfare Theater volume from Wizard.
Recent notable purchases include Tomb of Dracula Omnibus, Daredevil by Bendis Omnibus, and the Dardevil Hardcovers, volume 1-6. I've found that these are generally going out of print, and I hope to sell them later for a profit.
This Christmas season I picked up X-Men: Fatal Attractions (rare and out of print since 1994), Essential Hulk volume 5, the Red Hulk premiere hardcover, Kirby King of Comics hardcover, Spider-Man: The Cosmic Adventures TPB from 1993, Spider-Man: Hobgoblin Lives TPB from 1997, and Essential Wolverine volumes 1-4.
I am a sales engineer by profession with a large electric motor, power transformer, and generator manufacturer in the greater Atlanta area. Also I am currently in the process of getting my MBA in Business from University of Georgia, so by night my secret identity is a graduate student. LOL.
My favorite TV shows currently on TV are: Robot Chicken, Heroes, 24, LOST not necessarily in that order.
I read every day. Whether it's a comic book, graphic novel, trade paperback, textbook, the Bible, a newspaper, or catalog, I usually spend anywhere from a half hour to couple hours per day just READING! I love to read! It keeps your mind exercised, and helps improve your vocabulary and social consciousness and world awareness. Is there anything more important?
